Technologies: the missing element from the special specifications

Your design consultancy handles the structural works, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. That is their speciality. They coordinate these systems within a clear and coherent set of specifications. ICT? Often, it’s a three-page appendix. Sometimes nothing at all.

ICT Vision fills this gap. A design consultancy dedicated to digital technology. Integrated from the preliminary design stage. Aligned with the other disciplines. Meeting the same high standards as the rest of the project documentation.

Find out how to integrate digital technology right from the design stage.

Types of project

Our 6-phase approach

  1. We listen.

We meet with the client, the architect, the project designer and the facilities manager, if one is already in place. We define the actual uses, not the buzzwords. How many workstations? What meeting rooms? What Wi-Fi coverage extends to the car parks? What cameras on the rear façade? We ask the questions nobody else asks.

  2. We design.

2D plans in AutoCAD, 3D models in SketchUp, predictive Wi-Fi simulations using Ekahau or Hamina, network diagrams, electrical load calculations, and sizing of plant rooms. Every decision is documented. Every Wi-Fi access point and camera has its own connection point.

  3. We draw up the specialist ICT specifications.

We attend coordination meetings. We verify that the installed work complies with the plans and the ICT specifications. We act as the interface between the IT specialist, the electrician and the client. We anticipate conflicts and clarify the implementation.

  4. We assist with handover procedures.

Assisting the project manager during provisional and final acceptance inspections. Drafting acceptance reports. Monitoring the resolution of issues. Checking compliance with the specifications in the ICT Specification Document.

  5. We validate the as-built documentation.

The contractor submits their dossier: as-built drawings, certification reports, technical data sheets confirming compliance, guarantees regarding deadlines and consistent configuration, and end-user training. We check the documentation. We request any necessary corrections. We forward a clean, usable and legally enforceable dossier to the manager.

Areas of expertise

  • Enterprise networks and Wi-Fi: LAN architecture, indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage, centralised and multi-site management.
  • Physical building security: IP video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, fire detection.
  • Telephony and unified communications: VoIP, SIP intercoms, communication systems for offices and industrial sites, DECT networks.
  • IT and cybersecurity: Servers, firewalls, access security, security policy and auditing, Active Directory.

Who is our design consultancy aimed at?

  • Architects and project managers
  • General contractors
  • Property developers
  • Other engineering consultancies (structural, HVAC, electrical)
  • Building managers and facility managers
  • New builds, refurbishments, industrial, offices, hospitals, hotels, schools

Does this sound like you?

We incorporate the digital aspect right from the initial sketches, before the plans are finalised.

A single design office oversees the whole project. A coherent brief, a unified approach.

Thorough planning at the outset prevents unpleasant surprises on handover.

We integrate the network and digital systems into your renovation project.

We draw up the technical specifications lot by lot, including quantities, ready to send to the installers.

Design tools

  • AutoCAD — 2D working drawings. Layout plans, schematic diagrams, integration details.
  • SketchUp — Rapid 3D modelling to validate concepts and spatial coordination with other trades.
  • Ekahau / Hamina — Predictive Wi-Fi coverage simulation. Before installation. Not afterwards.
  • Visio, Draw.io, MermaidJS — Logic diagrams to document network architecture and data flows.

What this means in practice

10–30% savings on the ICT budget right from the design stage. No rework after handover. Operational documentation provided upon handover. Guaranteed compliance: RGIE, ANPI, TIA-568-D, ISO/IEC 11801, NBN S21-100. Enforceable CSC, certifiable plans, on-site project monitoring — not via email. An infrastructure designed to last 15 to 25 years, without the need for rewiring and with no day-to-day issues.

Certifications and standards

Certified skills: Autodesk AutoCAD · Ekahau Certified Wi-Fi Design Professional · Hamina Certified User · Fluke Networks (Class V certification reading)

Standards complied with: TIA/EIA-568-D · ISO/IEC 11801 · RGIE · ANPI · NBN S21-100 · NBN EN 50131 · GDPR (video surveillance)

Let’s discuss your project

The best time to contact us is before the plans are finalised. But if your project is already underway, it’s not too late: we can still structure and document the digital aspect.

FAQ

The price depends on the building’s floor area, the number of works packages to be analysed and the complexity of the project. We always provide a detailed quote following an initial free analysis.

Yes, absolutely. Our plans and specifications are independent of any supplier. The installer you choose can carry them out directly.

Both. For refurbishment projects, we start by carrying out a survey of the existing installation before designing the new one.

As early as possible — ideally as soon as the first sketches are drawn up. But we can get involved at any stage, including when the building work has already started.

An IT integrator installs equipment. A design consultancy designs the infrastructure before installation: plans, specifications, calculations. We are digital architects, not hardware suppliers.

Yes. We can produce Revit/BIM models that can be integrated into your overall project and shared with other trades.

Yes. Architects, electricians and design consultancies who refer clients to us receive a commission on each project they bring in. It’s a partnership arrangement.

Between 15 and 25 per cent of a building’s total budget. It is a significant item, which deserves just as much attention as the structure or the heating system.
