Fire detection
Rapid detection that saves lives. Smart, compliant, documented.
A detector that you don’t know is working doesn’t protect anyone. Dead batteries, incorrect spacing, damaged wiring – and an entire building thinks it’s covered when it isn’t, risking fines and a lack of insurance cover.
A modern fire detection system leaves no blind spots. Every detector is tailored to its environment, every alarm is verified before the emergency services are called out, and every test is logged. You are alerted in good time, and you can prove it.
At ICT Vision, a fire alarm system is more than just detectors on the ceiling: we design a comprehensive safety system, from regulatory audits to staff training. Every project follows a rigorous, standardised and documented methodology, in accordance with Belgian and European standards.
Does my business need a fire detection system?
-
“We have smoke detectors but we don’t know if they actually work.”
Standalone conventional detectors are not sufficient in a workplace environment. We install EN 54-certified optical detectors, connected to a fire control panel, with regular monitoring and testing. Immediate alerts and traceability guaranteed.
-
"Have standards changed? Are we at risk of fines or losing insurance?"
The risk is very real. Since July 2025, the new NBN S21-100 standard has been in force, and older installations are not automatically compliant. We audit your system, identify any non-compliances and carry out a phased or complete upgrade.
-
“We’re short-staffed at night. Should we alert the fire brigade straight away?”
Smart control centre with remote fire monitoring: an operator verifies the alarm before calling the fire brigade. Dual detection (detectors and heat-sensitive cables) reduces false alarms, and evacuation procedures are coordinated.
-
“The site has very different areas. Is generalised detection sufficient?”
No. Each area requires its own type of detection: high-sensitivity thermal detectors in the kitchen (vapour-resistant), optical detectors in offices, aspirating detection in high, hard-to-reach areas, and thermal cables in areas with high particle emissions.
-
‘We must comply with the Labour Code. What are our minimum legal requirements?
Compliance guaranteed. Audit of your legal obligations (Royal Decree of February 2006, General Safety Regulations), installation in accordance with the Belgian Labour Code and the NBN S21-100 standard, supported by an expert’s report. Zero risk of a fine.
-
"How can we ensure full evacuation during a real fire?"
Audible and visual alarms (sirens, flashing lights), evacuation guidance (luminescent signage, illuminated signs), optional occupant counting. All coordinated with your evacuation plan and your safety teams.

Our response process
-
Regulatory and technical audit
Comprehensive site visit, building survey (areas, heights, types of zones), analysis of legal obligations (Labour Code, public access building regulations), identification of non-compliances. Detailed audit report with priority recommendations.
-
Detection system design
Calculation of detector coverage (standard spacing), selection of sensors by zone (optical, thermal, CO), sizing of the control panel and sirens. Layout plan, technical diagram, detailed quotation with options.
-
Selection of EN 54-certified equipment
EN 54-7 detectors, EN 54-2/4 control panel, EN 54-3 sirens, from recognised brands (Honeywell, Siemens, Bosch). Manufacturer’s warranty of 5 to 10 years.
-
Installation and fitting
Fitting of detectors in accordance with the standard (height and spacing from the ceiling), redundant cabling, installation of the control panel and sirens. Each sensor is tested individually before handover.
-
Configuration and final testing
Configuration of the control panel (zones, delay times, inputs/outputs), simulation of a live alarm, verification of sirens and alarm escalation. Full validation of compliance with EN 54.
-
Documentation, certification and training
Signed compliance report, as-built drawings, updated evacuation plan, EN 54 certificate submitted to insurers. Training of staff (managers, night watchmen) in alert and evacuation procedures.
-
Maintenance and periodic tests
Monthly automated detector tests (smoke simulation), statutory annual maintenance, replacement of control panel batteries, servicing of optical components. Compliance maintained 365 days a year, 24/7 support in the event of a genuine alarm.
Why ICT Vision?
- Comprehensive statutory compliance audit Analysis of Belgian regulatory requirements (Labour Code, public access buildings, sensitive sectors), identification of non-compliances, priority recommendations. Expert report suitable for submission to insurers.
- EN 54-certified installation: EN 54-7 detectors, EN 54-2/4 control panels, EN 54-3 sirens. Sensors spaced in accordance with regulations, redundant cabling, pre-commissioning tests. Certificate issued.
- Intelligent false-alarm prevention system: Multi-criteria detectors and dual-sensor confirmation. Remote monitoring with operator validation before the fire brigade is called. Zero administrative penalties.
- Full building coverage Coverage calculated by zone (offices, corridors, kitchen, warehouse, car park), with detectors suited to each environment. No blind spots; evacuation guaranteed throughout.
- Fire and security integration: Detection synchronised with thermal imaging and the intruder alarm, controlled from a single central control panel. Upon an alert: access points unlocked, coordinated sirens, evacuation initiated.
- Mandatory testing and maintenance: Automated monthly tests, statutory annual maintenance, replacement of control panel batteries. Service history recorded, compliance maintained at all times.
- Evacuation documentation and training Up-to-date evacuation plans, written procedures, annual training for occupants, organised drills. No doubt as to what action to take.
- 24/7 remote monitoring Connection to approved emergency control centres in Belgium, operators trained in fire procedures, coordinated call to the fire brigade, continuous monitoring.
